Recruitment Procurement “flower sea in the dessert”

With the fast development of “Procurement” the term covers the load fewer and fewer and “procurement professional” is becoming a container term. How do you find the candidates with the competences you’re looking for and interest them in your position? Firstly the dynamics in which the candidate has been operating says a lot about the competences that have been challenged. Within Procurement 3 parameters are important to determine these dynamics. First of all we have the “type of Procurement”. There is a clear difference between e.g. the procurement of capital goods and commodities, while there are 7 types. Secondly every branch has its own characteristics regarding the position of Procurement. Last but not least is the complexity of the stakeholder environment very decisive, where the extremes are “local” and “international matrix”. So specific market knowledge is essential to find the competent candidates. The same knowledge is needed to pitch the position as an interesting next step in candidate’s career. To approach the best candidates with the right pitch is what it is about and knowledge of the market is, in this connection, indispensable.
