The role

In this role, you will be the raw materials procurement business partner of the several EMEA business teams within the Performance Formulation business line. The high impact at topline and bottomline results of raw material conditions causes joined ownership of business results with high visibility. You’ll lead a senior procurement team of 6 fte realizing the best results.

You will be reporting to the Procurement Director Performance Formulations. Location Amsterdam, The Netherlands

What tasks and responsibilities can you expect?

  • Lead a team of PR Category Managers to secure commercial excellence across the regions, drive performance improvements within the supply chain and secure that all procurement deliverables within projects are provided on time at a high quality.
  • Act as the Business Partner to one or more regional business teams to agree on cost targets, secure alignment between PR procurement activities and BU Business priorities as well as securing a strong communication and collaboration overall with the BU and with the other procurement regions.
  • Develop and drive the organization to identify improvement areas, explore cost reduction opportunities and establish a total cost of ownership approach internally and with external suppliers. Actively work to improve commercial terms with suppliers, identify ways to support minimize spending and reduce cost to support the company’s financial objectives.
  • Deploy the new category management organization with the relevant tools, metrics and follow up to ultimately establish an efficient supplier management process in collaboration with other procurement regions.
  • Lead the regional team to develop the regional organization by setting challenging objectives, provide opportunities for learning, development and personal growth for the teams.
  • Work actively with key stakeholders across BUs and within manufacturing, engineering, finance and other functions to build alignment around targets and establish common execution plans to support business growth and profitability improvement.
  • Manage the overall budget for the region and develops a yearly planning with key milestones, activities and target settings.
  • Represents the Business both inside and outside Nouryon; builds and maintains a network of business contacts in support of organizational objectives; conducts business in a responsible and ethical manner.
  • Develops and implements sourcing strategies for product and services designed to support the identified business needs and in line with the Global Procurement strategy following the SSM methodology.

Your profile

Education
Masters Degree, within Business Administration, Engineering or other relevant area.

Experience

Minimum 10 years work experience of strategic, project and operational procurement of which 5 with direct procurement. +3 years experience of people management ideally in a multinational company.

Language Skills: Fluent in English. Additional languages are an asset.
