Senior Category Buyer PCB
The Role
You will lead the Category Team, consisting of 3 operational buyers and a Quality Engineer, responsible for implementing the strategy and ensuring successful operations. Additionally, you will work closely with the corporate Category Manager and fellow category buyers from other subsidiaries to achieve efficient alignment of the strategy. For the group, you act as Supplier Account Manager for some of your larger suppliers. You are responsible for the relationships with suppliers within your category, primarily within NAA and in accordance with the corporate purchasing strategy. You seek, evaluate, and engage in discussions with suppliers for goods and services based on business needs, focusing on utilizing efficiency in production, achieving business objectives, and minimizing costs. You set clear objectives to continuously improve QLTCS performance. You work within multidisciplinary teams to achieve goals, ranging from initial selection and purchasing in the “phase-in” or projects to re-evaluating the existing portfolio.
Your Daily Responsibilities Include
- Seeking new suppliers in accordance with the category strategy;
- Negotiating and maintaining new and existing contracts with suppliers;
- Analyzing, defining, and implementing methods for continuous improvement in quality, logistics performance, technical capabilities, total costs, and sustainability (QLTC) and conducting and following up on regular business review meetings;
- Managing relationships with suppliers to ensure delivery and ensure they function as an integral part of our supply chain;
- Responsible for establishing and revising purchasing parameters;
- Representing the purchasing group in multidisciplinary project teams;
- Providing functional leadership and guidance to operational buyers within the category.
You will report directly to the Purchasing Manager "NAA" based in Son.
Location: Son, Eindhoven region (hybrid)
Profile
In this role, you play a vital role in strengthening the supply chain. To do this successfully, you will possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level, preferably with a relevant education in purchasing (e.g., NEVI);
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in purchasing;
- Knowledge of the PCB market is an advantage
- Strong relationship-building skills and excellent communication and negotiation abilities;
- Strong process understanding of the supply chain, ideally in production and assembly;
- Ability to translate vision and ambition into clear and concise results;
- Good level of oral and written communication skills in English.
